    About the Job: Finance Manager

    Key Purpose:

    The Finance Manager will have full profit and loss responsibility for the company, delivering monthly management accounts to the Head of Finance for review in line with reporting deadlines. A key aspect of the role is monitoring and analysing the financial performance of individual business streams within the Group.

    This requires working closely with Operations to support the Head of Finance in driving performance improvement and ensuring that financial results are delivered to plan. Additionally, the Finance Manager will play a key role in developing finance processes and refining current management account production to streamline and improve financial reporting to the business.

    Some commercial pricing work and involvement in the bid process will also be required to support new business bids.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Prepare and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast (cash flow forecasting & analysis).
    2. Production of monthly management accounts to balance sheet and cash flow level.
    3. Assist with quarterly financial forecasting in conjunction with all relevant departments.
    4. Assist with annual budget preparation in conjunction with all relevant departments.
    5. Monitor income and expenses in line with relevant budgets and suggest initiatives to improve profitability by consulting with the Head of Finance.
    6. Perform monthly analysis of variable and fixed expenses and provide recommendations to the Head of Finance to improve profitability.
    7. Ensure accounting and internal control best practices are maintained.
    8. Support budget holders with key management information, including robust management of risks and opportunities schedules.
    9. Identify system weaknesses and implement improvements.
    10. Participate in process improvement projects within the Finance team and wider business.
    11. Review the general ledger, creditors, and bank reconciliations monthly.
    12. Manage debtors, POs, and ensure correct allocation of revenue and costs between campaigns and cost centers.
    13. Develop cost center reporting through the Xero Accounting platform.
    14. Prepare and post all profit share journals to the general ledger.
    15. Sign off and agree all intercompany invoices.
    16. Review and analyse customer invoicing and VAT returns.
    17. Control customer onboarding, credit limits, and debt collection.
    18. Effectively manage available company cash flow.
    19. Loading payments on banking for release by the Head of Finance.
    20. Consult with the company's bankers, including cross-border transactions with the SA Reserve Bank.
    21. Monthly review of fixed asset registers and sign off.
    22. Ensure statutory returns are dealt with timeously.
    23. Coordinate the statutory audit.
    24. Manage business insurance.
    25. Poll payment runs (weekly) and load/review necessary payments for release by the Head of Finance.
    26. Prepare the annual GBS (DTI) applications file for review by the Head of Finance.
    27. Prepare the quarterly DTI file for review by the Head of Finance.
    28. Assess BBBEE targets and meet BBBEE audit requirements.
    29. Facilitate the financial element of the annual BBBEE audit.
    30. Prepare certificates required for audit.
