Job Purpose

In this position, you will take responsibility for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. This includes developing financial and operational strategies, metrics tied to these strategies; and ongoing development, embedment and monitoring of systems of control to manage and preserve company assets, report accurate financial results and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management: Provide financial management for all group companies.
Financial Administration and Compliance: Ensure financial administration and compliance across the organization.
Staff Management: Manage staff via Key Performance Areas (KPAs).
Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal stakeholders.
External Reporting: Report monthly financial performance to management and EXCO, and quarterly financial performance to the Board.
Audit Management: Ensure timely completion of annual audits (statutory and B-BBEE) for all companies.
Financial Controls: Enable unqualified audited annual financial statements through development and monitoring of financial controls.
Cost Control: Maintain cost control, bookkeeping, and accounting for all group companies.
Payment Processing: Take accountability for the payment process of the group companies.
Procurement: Take accountability for the procurement process of the group companies and improve, implement, and maintain.
Financial Integrity: Ensure the overall integrity of the financial reporting systems of the group companies.
Budgeting: Draft budgets annually, maintain, and report against them.
Target Setting: Set targets and monitor performance against budgets, plans, forecasts, and past performance.
Financial Forecasting: Conduct financial forecast modeling and reporting.
Payroll Management: Manage payroll and make timely employee payments.
Bank Relationships: Take responsibility for the relationship with our bankers.
Ad-Hoc Support: Provide ad-hoc financial modeling and report writing support to management as required.

Technical Skills

Advanced knowledge and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and IFRS for SMEs.
Knowledge of Company Taxation in terms of South African Tax Legislation.
