    About This Opportunity

    We are seeking a candidate to support and add value to the efforts of the Sustainable Finance team within Absa Corporate and Investment Banking Division. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transitioning the bank, its clients, and the broader economy towards a more sustainable future.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research and Analysis

      • Conduct research and analysis on current and future trends in sustainable finance, both locally and globally.
      • Develop subject matter expertise on sustainable offerings related to financial products and processes.
      • Report findings to a broader stakeholder network (internal or external).

    • Stakeholder Engagement

      • B Foster relationships with various stakeholders across Absa Group and Absa CIB.
      • Serve as a secondary point of contact for relevant external parties (clients, colleagues).
      • Stay informed about stakeholder developments and build expertise in a specific area.

    • Support on Various Initiatives

      • Assist with pre-deal research and analysis to facilitate origination/business development process.
      • Provide support on data collation, reporting, and analysis.
      • Support deal execution.

    Requirements

    The successful candidate will hold a BSc Hons degree in Environmental Science or a similar field, coupled with a minimum of 3 years' working experience in environmental/sustainability consulting or a recent CA from a Big 4 audit environment with extensive exposure to sustainability audits during articles.
