    The salary for this permanent Consultant Physician job is £99,532 - £131,964 per annum plus an £8,000 relocation package.

    Main Duties

    • Develop an acute frailty pathway in collaboration with colleagues and further develop frailty services.
    • Provide teaching for Junior Doctors, Medical Students, and other multidisciplinary team members.
    • Take responsibility for the Care of the Elderly wards at WCH.
    • Share educational or clinical supervision responsibilities with Consultant colleagues for Junior doctors in training.
    • Pursue personal development and mandatory training.
    • Participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities within the Trust.
    • Participate in Clinical trials.
    • Collaborate closely with specialist teams.
    • Work with managers and professional colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery.
    • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and clinical area management.
    • Assist in business plan preparation.
    • Support and participate in Booked Appointment Systems.
    • Take an interest in research and teaching, participating in projects and courses.
    • Participate in Consultant Appraisal and Job Plan.
    • Review annually and revalidate when necessary.

    Requirements for the Consultant Physician

    • Hold Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
    • Be registered as a Specialist in Geriatrics and GIM, holding MRCP.
    • Have entry on the GMC specialist register via relevant CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), relevant CESR or European Community Rights.
    • Demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in Geriatrics and GIM.
    • Have completed Higher Specialist Training (CCT) in Geriatrics or provide evidence of equivalent competency.
    • Exhibit excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers, and other staff.
    • Able to take full and independent responsibility for patient clinical care.
