Job Summary:

This role involves collecting high-quality safe blood and blood products in accordance with specific targets set for each blood drive (fixed or mobile).

Main Responsibilities:

1. Cost Management: Manage the cost per unit for whole blood and specialized collections within agreed blood drive/donor centre targets by determining, packing, and loading consumables as required.
2. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that equipment is maintained and validated to prevent delays in repairs.
3. Reporting: Report increases/decreases in consumable usage to the Clinic Supervisor and discrepancies in stock deliveries.
4. Stakeholder Relations: Manage stakeholder relationships at the blood drive and/or donor centre.
5. Donor Welcome: Greet donors, assist with registration, and ensure they read pamphlets/posters before medical assessment.
6. Donor Forms: Help donors complete forms, clarify queries, and address complaints.
7. Clinic Operations: Assist with setting up the blood drive, collecting whole blood and/or apheresis units, and completing documentation according to standard operating procedures.
8. Staff Development: Coach team members on customer service, identify training needs, and manage staff competency.
9. Medical Waste Management: Oversee the disposal of medical waste according to SOP.
10. Safety Procedures: Maintain a safe environment by ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma: General Nursing Sciences
• Licence: Code B or EB Manual driver's license

Experience and Knowledge:

• Experience: 2 years Registered Professional Nursing experience
