Description
The Office of the Valuer-General (OVG) was established through the Property Valuation Act No. 17 of 2014 (PVA), which became effective from the 1st of August 2015.

During the 2017/18 financial year, the OVG was listed, by the Minister of Finance, as a schedule 3(A) Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act.


Responsibilities:

Successful applicants will be required to exercise their oversight mandate towards the OVG through the effective execution of responsibilities as outlined in Chapter 27 of the Treasury Regulations and the approved Audit and Risk Committee Charter.


Requirements:

Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:


  • LLB or any NQF level 8 qualification in Law
  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court
  • 10 years or more experience in a Legal Services role. Experience in legal services within the Land Reform / Valuation space shall serve as an added advantage.

Only applicants meeting the minimum requirements listed above should apply. Knowledge of the Property Valuation Act, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and other public sector legislation is required. Previous experience in serving on oversight committees will be an added advantage.

Remuneration is paid in line with SAICA'S AGSA rates guidelines.
