    Regional Engineering Manager

    A leading healthcare organization is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Regional Engineering Manager to oversee engineering operations and maintenance activities across multiple hospital facilities in Gauteng.

    About the Role

    The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of the engineering teams, maintaining hospital infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage and oversee the engineering and maintenance operations for multiple hospital sites in Gauteng.
    • Lead a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff, ensuring effective performance and team development.
    • Ensure that all building services and infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems, are maintained and operated in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance schedules to ensure uninterrupted services in all hospital departments.
    • Manage budgets for maintenance projects, and track expenditure to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
    • Coordinate with hospital management to plan and implement engineering-related projects, such as upgrades and new installations.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with hospital safety standards, ensuring engineering processes meet regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections of equipment and systems, ensuring that the necessary repairs are carried out promptly.
    • Lead the implementation of energy-saving and sustainability initiatives within the hospitals.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience in facilities or maintenance management.
    • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure systems (HVAC, electrical, water, etc.).
    • Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
    • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, safety regulations, and building codes.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work under pressure.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
    • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between sites.
