    Job Summary

    To ensure machines and equipment in designated areas are maintained to meet targets. Accountable for supervision of electrical, mechanical maintenance work, and statutory compliance. Also accountable for supervision of civil and facilities maintenance work and statutory compliance. Ensure compliance to the MHSA and regulations.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Developing maintenance budgets, monitoring, and controlling maintenance costs to find opportunities for improvement.
    • Developing maintenance procedures, methods, and testing.
    • Providing technical support for repair methods for installed equipment and rotatables – expert in diagnosing faults and repairing equipment.
    • Supporting craftsmen performing difficult or major maintenance work and responding to critical equipment faults.
    • Troubleshooting equipment breakdowns (i.e., resource for the Maintenance Supervisors).
    • Inspecting critical jobs to verify the work is performed correctly.
    • Partnering with the Maintenance Coordinator to support improvement in quality and efficiency.
    • Providing skill-based training to craftsmen on specific equipment in the plant and general.
    • Acting as a relief for other leaders in the Maintenance Organization (Manager, R&I Lead, Planning Lead, Coordinator).
    • Performing engineering design calculations as needed.
    • Supporting the rotatables team by defining the repair scopes (in conjunction with vendor) and definition and development of repair procedures.
    • Managing replacement or small to medium execution improvement projects, either capital or expense.
    • Identifying improvement opportunities with Maintenance teams and driving these projects to completion with assistance of R&I and Projects.
    • Assisting in responses for emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs.

    A Safe and Healthy Work Environment

    • Complying with SHEQ and technical requirements, in line with Plant/Mine availability targets.
    • Monitoring, identifying, and responding to defects and/or sub-standard equipment performance and other improvement opportunities.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • BEng Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; or BTECH Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Mandatory).
    • Grade 12/Standard 10/N3 with Mathematics and Science (Mandatory).
    • GCC (Mines – Electrical or Mechanical) (Mandatory). Driver’s License (Mandatory).
    • Maintenance, Planning, and Development, Hazard identification, Risk assessment, RCFA/RCM facilitated and implemented, Procurement, Contract, and Project Management experience within a heavy industry/production/mining environment (Mandatory).
    • Computer Literacy (Recommended) 3-5 years.
