Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The strategic, academic and operational management of the African Tax Institute (ATI);
- Promoting, planning, organizing and managing academic and research programmes and the institute's research profile;
- Ensuring scholarly academic research and education;
- Managing all financial activities of the ATI, including externally funded projects and fundraising;
- Playing an active role as an academic leader of the discipline at a national and international level;
- Improving the ATI's diversity profile;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
PROFESSOR
- A doctorate in the field of Public Finance, Tax Law, Taxation, or Public Policy;
- Recognised academic status in the relevant discipline;
- A proven research and publication record;
- Experience in highlevel liaison with internal and external stakeholders;
- Involved in PhD supervision and successful delivery of doctoral and master's graduates;
- Experience in managing human resources, budgets and programmes;
- An established national and international profile and networks;
- Experience in teaching and postgraduate supervision in the field of Public Finance, Tax Law, Taxation and/or Public Policy;
- The ability to plan and initiate disciplinerelated and multidisciplinary research programmes.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- An appropriate vision for the ATI;
- Involvement in disciplinerelated professional activities and/or entities;
- An existing network and collaboration in tax research and teaching;
- Managerial skills and competencies;

- Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills;
- Diversity management experience;
- Ability to manage time and prioritise effectively;
- Contract research experience in the public sector and/or multilateral international organisations.
