    Description

    A market-leading South African Internet Service Provider is looking for a Release Manager to support their operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

    • Coordinating with stakeholders to plan and execute releases, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption.
    • Collaborating with software development teams to understand requirements, prepare release plans, and communicate deployment status.
    • Leading the deployment process, managing resources, and mitigating risks associated with code conflicts and quality issues.

    Key Skills and Qualifications:

    • Suitable tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related field.
    • Proven experience as a Release Manager, with a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Familiarity with application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating systems, including Salesforce Platform knowledge.

    Performance Metrics:

    • Release success rate (including rollbacks and on-time delivery).
    • Escaped Defects.
    • Defect rate.
    • Number of releases.
    • Deployment duration.
    • Release duration.
    • Downtime caused by Releases.
    • Incidents caused by Releases.
    • Mean time to repair.
    • Average lead time.
    • Average cycle time.
