Payroll Manager to join the
Human Resources team based in Sandton, Johannesburg
.



Purpose of the Job


The Payroll Manager will be responsible to oversee and direct the payroll function and ensure alignment with policies and relevant legislation.


Experiential and Educational Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualification and/or relevant payrollrelated qualification
  • 10 years relevant experience of which at least 3 must be in a managerial role
  • Advanced Payroll Tax knowledge and experience
  • Solid financial acumen and knowledge of Accounting software
  • Extensive knowledge of Sage 300 Payroll and ESS is
    essential:
  • Advanced MS Office, particularly Excel
  • In
- depth working knowledge of relevant tax legislation, employment conditions and Bargaining councils (advantageous)

  • Experience in dealing with Expats Payroll (advantageous)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of payroll processing, procedures, and controls, including the streamlining and automation of processes
  • Conduct Payroll Reviews and to ensure the accuracy of payments
  • Implementation of the remuneration policy, philosophy and practices
  • Leading and managing the payroll team
  • Researching and benchmarking remuneration best practices


  • Reporting

  • In
cluding statutory reporting, HR, Finance, Budget, and Payroll Reporting

  • Developing and reviewing Remuneration and Employee Benefits Policies and Procedures
  • Participating and managing Projects, including surveys
  • Providing guidance and support on all remuneration and benefits related matters
  • Management of retirement funds and insured benefits, medical aid scheme strategy and policy and general remuneration practices
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of remuneration and benefits systems
