Our client manufactures, markets and sells tissue and hygiene products through Retail and Business to Business channels in South Africa and neighbouring countries.

Its Head Office and operational factories are in Gauteng, Kempton Park.

Are seeking a highly capable Material's Manager to head the group's warehouse.

The incumbent will be responsible for the overall management of the daily operations of the warehouse within the business whilst effectively and efficiently ensuring that operational activities are executed on time and in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) conditions and that all administration is completed timeously and accurately.


THE POSITION - ONLY OPEN TO EE/AA Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain - the core functions of the Material's Manager include managing inventory and purchasing procedures for raw materials and other supplies within the company.

Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs, purchase supplies and materials according to specifications and coordinate and supervise receiving procedures.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • To manage inbound and outbound shipments and wadding and other raw materials.
  • To manage housekeeping of physical and system locations including: Liaison with QA and manufacturing daily to ringfence, record and determine final decisions regarding rejected or on hold stock such that all locations are managed at short interval basis.
  • To ensure standards for labelling and stacking of wadding and other materials is according to internal standards and where needed develop these standards going engagement with the customer.
  • To ensure that proper location management is administered and where necessary locations are balance e.g. In Transit locations, 3rd Party locations (shipping) as well as Reject/Hold locations.
  • To ensure that returns from customers are processed for credit timeously.
  • To ensure that Broke and Rework operations are efficiently managed, and outputs processed timeously with full supporting documentation.
  • To develop, draft and implement thorough Stock Taking procedures and to execute training and adherence to these.
  • To manage the SHEQ environment for all Material Handling operators and MHE compliance
  • To ensure a clean and safe 5Stype working environment at all responsible locations
  • To ensure the drafting of performance management of staff and compliance to set KPI's.
  • To manage the reverse logistics of waste materials e.g. broke and core sales to external third parties.
  • To ensure timeous delivery of daily stock reports as well as reports detailing location balancing
  • To execute and other reasonable instruction and/or requirement as directed by the Head of Supply Chain.
  • To ensure liaison with Manufacturing to ensure loads for converting and external customers are picked and invoiced timeously.
  • To manage team training, motivation, performance, discipline, and productivity

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or related is essential.
  • Previous Supply Chain Management experience having worked within a Manufacturing (FMCG), or related Industry is essential.
  • Experience in the use of an ERP system and/or WMS.
  • Syspro knowledge is a must
  • Must understand process development and management
  • Excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Data management skills.
  • Relationshipbuilding and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinking to help bring products to the market faster.
  • Technical ability, including a solid understanding of artificial intelligence, analytics software and innovations that can impact the supply chain.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • To be successful in this role you need to able to demonstrate the ability to: Implement a System to manage and account for Pulp and Paper stock (Eliminate stock variances across responsible locations).
  • Manage Possible Business Financial Risk
  • Warehousing and Transport arrangement/agreement between service providers.
  • Develop a plan for Core Management and Cost Reduction Projects.

Salary:
R30, R35,000.00 per month
