    Job Title: Technical Sales Representative/External Sales

    We are seeking a skilled Technical Sales Representative/External Sales professional to join our team in Kempton.

    Job Objective:

    • To serve as a technical sales specialist, focusing on the sales of complex technical products.
    • The ideal candidate will target distributors, end users, OEMs, and Project Management Companies.
    • The role requires extensive travel across various provinces, with some customers based in foreign countries.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Identify potential customers through research, recommendations from current clients, industry journals, and online searches.
    • Conduct market research and provide feedback to inform business decisions.
    • Maintain and expand the distributor network to increase sales opportunities.
    • MMeet with customers and technical staff to understand their needs and preferences.
    • Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to showcase products and services.
    • Negotiate contracts, quotations, sales orders, and arrange for timely delivery.
    • Regularly follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with current installations and offer additional services and products.
    • Develop and implement product training programs for customers and employees.
    • Visit customers periodically to assess market size and factors influencing the market.
    • Compile detailed visit reports to inform future sales strategies.
    • Quote customers, confirm orders, deliver, and invoice customers using SAP.
    • Follow up on outstanding quotations on a weekly basis.
    • Expedite outstanding customer orders, notify customers of delays, and resolve any issues that may arise.
    • Handle customer complaints and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
    • Administer customer satisfaction surveys to measure performance.
    • Provide annual sales and budget figures for all products and markets.
    • Develop and implement sales price lists for key customers.
    • Foster and maintain positive relationships with top 20 key customers.
    • Create and send monthly email product campaigns.
    • Contribute to online marketing activities to reach a wider audience.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • A minimum of 3 years of sales experience in transmission components, brakes, gearbox, or materials handling.
    • A degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, with 3 years of related work experience, or a trade certificate (fitter and turner or equivalent) with 5 years of related work experience.

    Inherent Requirements:

    • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and colleagues.
    • Influencing skills to persuade and convince customers of the value of products and services.
    • Presentation skills to engage and educate audiences.
    • Technical competence, with a degree or trade qualification and practical work experience.
    • Previous experience in technical marketing and sales.
    • Negotiation skills to secure deals and resolve conflicts.

    Package & Remuneration:

    Negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
