Du Toit Yacht Design designs yachts and small craft of all types for leisure and commercial use.Today, it is South Africa's premier naval architecture firm, having produced more custom catamaran metres and tonnage than any other yacht designer in the southern hemisphere.
DTYD has completed over 120 projects since 2001, including over 30 complete custom and production catamarans.
Ideally, we are looking for an individual with a passion for draughting and boat design and a commitment to the pursuit of excellence in design, preferably with some working experience.
A career in the yacht and boating industry will prove challenging & stimulating, due to the technical and aesthetic aspects and the uncommon nature of the field.
This is an opportunity to work for one of the most prolific yacht design firms in South Africa and to learn from a yacht design team with decades of yacht design and naval architecture expertise.
Summary of basic requirements:
- 2D CAD drawing using AutoCAD or other industry standard.
- 3D CAD modelling and drafting using CATIA, Rhino, SolidWorks or equal.
- Portfolio of previous work or proof of abilities required via practical or references.
- Proficient and neat work ethic
- Ability to work alone as well as in a team
- Ability to work under pressure
Additional beneficial skills and experience:
- An interest in the technical aspects of marine design and yacht design
- Sailing, boating and or cruising experience
- Demonstrated analytic, problemsolving & organisational skills.
