Finance Risk and Controls Manager

The Finance Risk and Controls Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying financial risks, designing mitigation strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify internal control environment risks within Finance, design and implement mitigating controls in partnership with key stakeholders.
Risk Assessment and Resource Allocation: Advise on and assess risks, prioritization and deployment of Finance resources, and ensure compliance with regulatory/contractual requirements.
Control Framework Effectiveness: Monitor the ongoing effectiveness of the firm's control framework within the Finance function.
Financial Risk Management: Identify key financial risks across other areas of the firm's activities and ensure they are adequately mitigated.
Control Implementation: Work with key stakeholders and SMEs to scope, design, and implement controls to address key risks.
Automation and Improvement: Automate existing manual controls, enhancing and continuously improving the design and effectiveness of controls.
Internal Controls Framework: Own and develop the internal controls framework, working with both internal and external audit to ensure the effectiveness of controls is tested.

Requirements:

A relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is essential with experience in financial controls and accounting.
Experience of financial controls audits in a listed environment, good working knowledge of SOX requirements.
Experience managing projects, communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders.
Ability to understand root cause of issues and identify right course of action.
Strong planning and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail.
Experience using innovative technical solutions to solve problems.
