A vacancy exists in Static Power for light current technical support person. The person shall report to the Sales manager.

The incumbent provides technical support to Sales Department for Static group products to ensure that correct technical and cost models are employed

Main responsibilities:

Provide technical support to Sales Department of DC and AC UPS solutions to meet customer requirements.

Interpret customer tender requirements to allow proper technical and cost solutions. Outputs include, provide accurate technical solutions and financial costings, AB schedule completion, sample drawings and datasheets.

Provide technical support to sales team when interacting with external and internal customers.

Minimum qualifications

Higher National Diploma of Electrical Engineering (Light Current).

Minimum of 3 years Power Electronics experience.

Knowledge of DC and AC UPS systems (Thyristor and Switch-mode), plus various battery technologies essential.

Knowledge of industry protection and telecoms principles and interface with DC and AC standby power systems essential.

Must be in possession of valid drivers licence (code 08).

Must be in possession of a valid passport.

Good technical background and ability to discuss at technical level

Good negotiation skills.

The ability to make competent technical and financial decisions.

Be able to work flexible hours, which may include additional hours to meet deadlines.
