    Job Opportunity: Site Reliability Engineer

    A fantastic opportunity for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team developing the next generation of software systems in a leading manufacturing environment.

    We are seeking a highly experienced engineer to design and implement systems solutions that meet quality and delivery requirements.

    Core Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of and working experience with:

    1. Minimum 8 years of commercial operations experience
    2. Technical Knowledge - Required:
      1. Experience with Container Orchestrations Platforms, preferably Kubernetes
      2. In-depth knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system internals and administration, or the Unix networking stack
      3. Network Expertise:
        • Subnetting
        • Routing
        • Firewalling
        • DNS, reverse-proxies & OSI layers
      4. A deep understanding of the TCP stack and ability to debug problems on the socket/driver level
      5. Programming Skills: Working knowledge of software development in one or more languages: C#, JavaScript/Typescript
      6. Additional responsibilities may be assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter
      7. Ability to build highly automated CI/CD pipelines using customized automation scripts in bash or Python
      8. IaaS knowledge: Deployment and maintenance of Linux VMs using Ansible
      9. Experience with cloud technologies:
        • Confluent Kafka
        • Managed Kubernetes Engines, like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
        • Proxies, like Azure Application Gateway
        • Managed databases, such as PostgreSQL
      10. CI/CD Pipeline Systems: Experience with GitLab and/or GitHub Actions
      11. Version Control: Working knowledge of Git and repository hosting platforms, including GitLab, Nexus, and GitHub (Self-hosted)

    This contract position offers a competitive rate of R570 - R700 per hour.
