Description

An established company in the interior design industry is looking for a bookkeeper who will ensure accuracy and organisation of financial records.

This position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The bookkeeper collaborates closely with the finance team.


Job Specifications

  • Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records for the interior design company. This includes recording all financial transactions, such as purchases, sales, expenses, and payments.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including verifying and processing invoices, preparing payments to vendors and contractors, and following up on outstanding receivables.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of recorded transactions and resolve any discrepancies between bank statements and internal records.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and track company expenses, including employee reimbursements, office supplies, project costs, and other expenditures. Maintain organised records for tax and audit purposes.
  • Payroll Administration : Assist in payroll processing by accurately recording employee working hours, commissions, bonuses, and benefits. Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budget reports. Prepare periodic financial statements for management review.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage budgets for various projects and departments within the interior design company. Monitor actual expenses against the budget and provide regular reports on budget performance.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation and compliance activities, such as gathering required financial data and documentation, completing tax forms, and collaborating with external tax consultants or auditors.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with colleagues, clients, vendors, and contractors regarding financial matters. Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications & Expertise

  • Proven work experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in the interior design or related industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and familiarity with relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred, but relevant work experience may be considered.
