The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

The IIE Vega, Johannesburg Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Academic Navigator (Lecturer) for the second semester, for the following module:

Digital Design Technology 3B

Job Purpose:

Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning.

Key Performance Areas:

Prepare for lectures based on provided content. Supplement content with own expertise. Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours. Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback. Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed. Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success. Provide content feedback. Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Ideal:

Honours or Master's Degree in Digital Design, Multimedia Design, Motion Design, Interaction Design or Animation.
Professional Portfolio to illustrate expertise in industry standard 3D animation software.

Alternatively:

Undergraduate qualification in a relevant design field, and an NQF 8 or higher qualification in Higher Education.
Plus, Adobe and Autodesk Maya/ 3DS Max Certification
BA Hons or Masters in a cognate field with knowledge and experience of designing for Augmented and Virtual reality.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

At least 3 years industry experience in digital design or game design, including the use of game engines to create Simulations, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.
