Look no further Valmet South Africa, for sales and service operations in Energy, Recovery and Environmental business, is looking for a Senior Sales Manager to join our team in Durban.


As our Senior Sales Manager, you will take ownership of our local business operations and make a significant impact on our business by leading, managing, and developing our local sales and service operations in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, including our key accounts.


Responsibilities:

You will have a diverse range of responsibilities to ensure the success of our sales operations.


These responsibilities include:
- preparing sales proposals in collaboration with capital and service operations located in Sweden and Finland;
- participating in and leading sales negotiations and preparing contracts;
- creating sales budgets and action plans (orders booked, gross profit, market share etc.)
- developing marketing action plans such as customer events and product launches with business units;
- building and maintaining customer relationships by transmitting market, customer, and competitor information to management, giving presentations, and conducting sales negotiations;
- preparing business reports;
- conducting competitor follow-up and intelligence;
- reference management, including customer feedback and satisfaction;
- following up on account receivables, warranty/quality issues, and lost orders to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain long-term relationships.


Requirements:


  • Technical background with a minimum of Bachelor's Engineering degree or equivalent in mechanical/process/thermal engineering
  • Good knowledge of power generation processes
  • Minimum 8 years' experience from power plant operation and/or engineering with a proven record
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Serviceminded
  • Willingness to travel both locally in South Africa and overseas
  • Good installation and engineering experience would be considered an advantage
