Description
Duties/Pligte
- Coordinating the administrative component of the Department, including providing assistance to the Departmental Chair, conducting departmental secretarial and administrative duties, and coordinating departmental functions;
- Administration of the departmental cost points and processing all financial transactions of the Department, including obtaining quotations from service providers and all forms of payment on the Stellenbosch University (SU) financial system;
- Academic administration of undergraduate and postgraduate students within the Department;
- Coordinating networking with other University Divisions such as IT, HR, Finance, Facilities Management and Campus Security;
- Handling enquiries from and liaising with staff, students, service providers and the public;
- Administration of social impact projects.
- Koördineer die administratiewe komponent van die Departement, met inbegrip van hulpverlening aan die Departementele Voorsitter, uitvoering van departementele sekreteriële
- en administratiewe pligte, en koördinering van die Departement se funksies;
- Administrasie van die departementele kostepunte, en prosessering van alle finansiële transaksies van die Departement, met inbegrip van die verkryging van kwotasies van diensverskaffers en alle betalings op die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) se finansië lestelsel;
- Akademiese administrasie van voorgraadse
- en nagraadse studente in die Departement;
- Koördineer skakeling met ander Universiteitesafdelings soos IT, MHB, Finasies, Fasiliteitsbestuur en Kampussekuriteit;
- Hanteer navrae van en skakeling met personeel, studente, diensverskaffers en die publiek;
- Administrasie van gemeenskapsimpak-projekte.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- A financial or administrative diploma / certificate, or an equivalent qualification, with at least three years working experience in finance and office administration;
- A high level of computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and especially Excel;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent organisational skills;
- The ability to work well under pressure and within deadlines;
- The ability to work independently, to be pro-active, to take full responsibility for projects and to deliver work of an exceptional standard;
- The ability to function in a multilingual and diverse environment.
- n Finansiële of administratiewe diploma / sertifikaat of gelykwaardige kwalifikasie, met minstens drie jaar se werkservaring in finansies of kantooradministrasie;
- n Hoë vlak van rekenaargeltterdheid en vaardigheid in MS Office en veral Excel;
- Uitestekende skriftelike en mondelinge kommunikasievaardighede;
- Uitestekende organisatoriese vaardighede;
- Die vermoë om goed onder druk te funksioneer en binne spertye te werk;
- Die vermoë om onafhanklik te werk, om proaktief te wees, om volle verantwoordelikheid vir projekte te aanvaar, en om werk van n uitmuntende gehalte te lewer;
- Die vermoë om in n meertalige en diverse omgewing te funksioneer.
