    At Worxs4u, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating steel supplies.

     

    Job Description:

    The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:

    • Placing orders with steel mills
    • Monitoring inventory levels
    • Verifying pricing
    • Staying up-to-date with market trends
    • Tracking stock levels
    • Coordinating loads with mills and warehouse staff
    • Maintaining purchase orders
    • Updating administrative spreadsheets
    • Following up with the buying team on open purchase orders weekly
    • Following up with the sales team on open sales orders weekly
    • Submitting claims to steel mills and following up

     

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

    • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Steel Mill Buyer is essential
    • Experience with imports and exports
    • Strong negotiation and sourcing skills
    • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
    • Strong knowledge of steel materials, grades, specifications, and production processes
    • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
    • Familiarity with Syspro and Q-Docs would be advantageous
    • MATH skills to ensure accurate calculations
