Purpose of the Job


The purpose of this job is to schedule and control the daily operations on the production line, so that they are manufactured on time in accordance with the Master Production Schedule/Repairs Schedule as well as lead all line supply integration issues between Planning, Production, Quality, NCR, Logistics and Procurement.

This is a key support function for manufacturing. The Serial Production Coordinator Production line scheduler ( Is this the same person ?) makes the link between industrial planning, PrSCL, logistics and manufacturing to ensure on time execution of operations


Key responsibilities include the following:


  • At project starting, initialize all line feeding flows (what must they do?)
  • Check plan orders readiness to ensure work orders can be launch on time and analyze exception messages of the MRP
  • Convert Planned Orders (MPS) into Work Orders and launch them on time in production
  • Followup daily the progress of Work Orders through close exchanges with EPU/Line managers and provide visibility dashboards on materials availability for task sequences
  • Ensure that priorities as planned in the MPS are clearly displayed and updated at shopfloor level (visual management)
  • Alert the planning team/supply chain manager about issues impacting plan execution (missing parts, quality issues, production stoppage, technical data) does the MPS not have all of this embedded? NO, They perform this task. Its what makes their role critical to production
  • Analyze deviations with manufacturing, PME and Quality, and propose short term recovery actions in order to catchup the committed plan Provide the linefeeding priorities visibility to the logistics team in order to secure the production does this position have the weight to do as proposed in this line? Yes, this is part of what defines this roles synergy to production and the MPS
  • Secure the internal production flows by monitoring production of subassemblies
  • Followup subcontracted operations and ensure their execution on time in collaboration with procurement/logistics/production
  • Check data accuracy related to BOM/Routings in collaboration with Logistics and Industrialization
  • Collaborate with quality team in order to prioritize incoming inspection and quality issues priorities
  • Contribute to the footprint updates needs with Logistics methods
  • Manage the information workflow of work orders: job release, production time recording (COGI), material consumption and shipment process to customer for compo/sig sites (in collaboration with logistics and/or ERP team).
  • Followup customer deliveries complaints and assist with closing the NCR
  • Contribute to minimize the product throughput time and maintain optimum WIP open ended) Synergy with production in maintaining the Takt time and maintaining standard work in progress inventory
  • During project closure, participate to inventories to secure last manufacturing takt times
  • Respect EHS rules and involved in SOV (safety observation visits)

Requirements:


  • Technician education degree (Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain)
  • Experience in production scheduling/sequencing or operational supply chain with relevant usage of ERP (ideally SAP) in a manufacturing environment years' experience.
  • Knowledgeable of industrial planning, logistics, inventory management, procurement
  • Good knowledge of MRP and Production Scheduling tools
  • Good level of data analysis and reporting
