    The Role of Area Sales Manager

    We are seeking a high-performing Area Sales Manager to lead and grow our regional branch network. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years' experience in store or area management (preferably in food retail) and a strong grasp of stock control, compliance, and operational excellence.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor store managers across the region to achieve sales growth and profitability targets.
    • Sales Performance: Oversee sales performance, budgets, and profitability targets for all stores.
    • Pricing and Marketing: Implement pricing, promotions, and marketing strategies to drive sales growth.
    • Store Operations: Ensure high standards of meat cutting, display, and hygiene in all stores.
    • Supply Chain Management: Support stock management, purchasing, and cost control to maintain efficiency and quality.
    • Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and branding requirements across all stores.
    • Team Collaboration: Foster collaboration and a strong team culture across stores to drive employee engagement and satisfaction.
    • Reporting and Analysis: Attend bi-weekly sales meetings and report on key metrics to inform business decisions.

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years' experience in store or area management (preferably in food retail)
    • B-Tech or diploma in retail management or equivalent is advantageous
    • Strong understanding of retail business practices, including financial reporting
    • Hands-on leadership with excellent communication and people skills
    • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple stores
    • Works well under pressure and handles challenges with confidence
    • Computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft Office
    • Holds a Matric (a Diploma or B-Tech in Retail Management is advantageous)
