    **Job Title: Pharmacist - Constantia Park - Fixed Term Senior Position**


    Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to join our team at our Constantia Park store. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy practice, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.


    **Key Responsibilities:**



    • Providing pharmaceutical care to patients, including evaluating their medicine-related needs and providing appropriate advice and treatment.

    • Dispensing medicines and scheduled substances as prescribed by authorized healthcare professionals.

    • Signing off and checking prescriptions prepared by assistants or interns, and accepting accountability for their correctness.

    • Furnishing information and advice to patients and other stakeholders regarding the use of medicines.

    • Determining patient compliance with therapy and following up to ensure their medicine-related needs are being met.

    • Providing pharmacist-initiated therapy, compounding, manipulating, preparing, or packaging medicines or scheduled substances, or supervising these activities.

    • Manufacturing medicines or scheduled substances, or supervising these activities.

    • Purchasing, acquiring, importing, keeping, possessing, using, releasing, storing, packaging, re-packaging, supplying, or selling medicines or scheduled substances, or supervising these activities.

    • Applying for the registration of medicines in accordance with the Medicines Act and Pharmacy Act.

    • Performing acts specially pertaining to the profession of a pharmacist as prescribed.

    • Formulating medicines for registration purposes.

    • Distributing medicines or scheduled substances.

    • Re-packaging medicines.

    • Initiating and conducting pharmaceutical research and development.

    • Promoting public health.


    **Requirements:**



    • Grade 12 / Matric and BPharm or equivalent qualification.

    • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).

    • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in pharmaceutical retail pharmacy.

    • Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office.

    • Strong command of the English language and a second language.

    • Good communication skills, listening, and customer service focus.

    • Supervisor experience, able to lead by example.

    • Ability to train other staff members.

    • Conflict management, strong attention to detail, sound numerical skills, problem-solving, and team player.

    • Trusted and honest, with good time management and ability to deal with pressure.


    **Special Conditions of Employment:**



    • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council.

    • Willing and able to work retail hours.

    • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.

    • Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.

    • South African citizen.

    • MIE clear credit and criminal records.
