    Lecturer Job Description

    Summary:

    A lecturer is required to deliver high-quality education and support students in their academic journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering weekly classes, as well as communicating with learners and providing feedback.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Lecturing:
      • Plan and manage weekly classes to ensure effective learning outcomes.
      • Prepare and deliver learning content in a contact and online learning environment, interpreting the material and developing presentations as needed.
      • Communicate and guide learners through formative and summative assignments, monitoring their progress and providing regular feedback.
      • Develop learning materials, including assessment tools, when required.
      • Organize additional workshops and field trips as necessary.
      • Mark assessments and provide timely feedback to learners within the set deadlines.
    • General Academic Administration:
      • Record student attendance and identify those who require additional support.
      • Set up support systems for students who need extra help.
      • Record student results and participate in campus staff meetings to address logistical issues and share updates on academic development.
      • Attend open days to share module and program information with prospective learners and parents.
    • Minimum Requirements:
      • NQF 6 qualification or higher in a relevant field.
      • At least 2 years of lecturing experience.
      • Industry experience is recommended but not essential.
