Role Purpose:

Assure preventative and reactive maintenance services performance and quality delivery in the network field operations.

The individual will be accountable to instil operating cadence that promotes adequate governance structures, controls, and measures for KPI's and SLAs in the Field Force Operations (FFO).

The individual will need to support and implement the required systems and solutions to enable the optimisation of the end-to-end value chain and ensure that all filed network maintenance stakeholders are managed diligently.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Conduct operational meetings and workshops with FFO provider as well as with FFO specialist in the regions to ensure contractual delivery of Preventative Planned and Reactive Maintenance, quality, and quantifiable delivery.
  • Liaise with different groups (i.e., Regions, managed services, network management, system developers and business analysts) to ensure efficient and qualitative FFO services delivery.
  • Influence, monitor and drive Preventative and Reactive Passive and Active Maintenance schedules and tasking, whilst maintaining high quality.
  • Ensure maintenance schedules and quality targets are met by FFO suppliers.
  • Compile and track Preventative and Reactive Maintenance weekly audits are done by the regional specialist and that where substandard issues are identified, these are recorded through Sub-Standard forms (SSF).
  • Track Preventative and Reactive Maintenance progress and prepare reports and presentations for the management team.
  • Assure that Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Quality of services performed as part of the ISO 9001, FFO contracts and Vodacom standards.
  • Total Quality Management (TQM), IFS (WFM) usage and auditing of completed services and feedback to FFO suppliers.
  • Provide weekly, monthly Preventative and Reactive Maintenance reports on reoccurring task, APM and PPM task volumes trends.
  • Perform verification that all assigned tasks are updated on WFM by the Field Technicians.
  • Daily engagement with the regional Workorder team and update systems to improve efficiencies
- (Workflow, WFM, Remedy, Streamline).

  • Drive quality delivery best practice and provide improvement inputs through Demand forum.
  • Attend, resolve or escalate quality nonconformities with service providers.
  • New site build quality assurance.
  • Secure correct use of Vodacom quality standards and procedures, viz site acceptance, handover and maintenance procedures, in line with ISO 9000 and Vodafone standards.
  • Management and restoration of substandard activities (SSSF).
  • Perform quality audits on the sites and enforce compliance from regional FFO Specialist
  • Quality Assurance on vandalised site restoration.

Technical / Professional Qualifications:


  • 3year Diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) telecoms
  • At least 35 years relevant experience
  • Project management qualification will be an added advantage

Experience:


  • At least 3 5 years' experience in Technical Operations within a telecommunication network operator. (Essential),
  • Must have at least 5 years' experience in one or more of the following operational areas: Energy and environmental Operations/Radio Maintenance & Transmission/Network Performance Management (Essential)
  • Experience in change, incident, problem and project management (Essential)
  • Able to work in fast paced, stressful, everchanging environment
