About the Role:
Highbury Media T/A Habari Media (Pty) Ltd is a media powerhouse, whose world-class titles connect brands to targeted audiences. We are currently seeking a Junior Payroll Administrator to join our HR team.
Responsibilities:
Process accurate and timely commissions payable weekly.
Reconcile monthly commission paid and outstanding commissions payable.
Upload Commissions to Payspace payroll system
Release payslips on Payspace payroll system
Sage Evolution:
Reconcile Cashbook to wages and capture to General Ledger.
Salaries:
Upload new staff to Payspace payroll system. Ensure all relevant deductions are processed & relevant changes are made.
Salary Cashbooks:
reconcile payroll report and capture salary cashbook on Sage before month end.
3rd party payments: Reconcile statements to payroll & ensure payments are processed accordingly
SARS:
Pull EMP201 report from Payspace payroll system & submit figures on E-Filing.
Emoluments (Garnishee orders): Ensure payments are made to the relevant parties
Medical Aid:
Reconcile spreadsheet with general ledger, bank statement & Discovery statement
Update company org chart
Draft increase letters, promotional letters, and transfer letters
Ad hoc duties:
Liaise with staff regarding leave and/or Payspace user queries.
Send monthly reminders to staff that prior annual leave is about to expire.
Ensure all tax directives are loaded to Payspace system
Assist with year-end payroll and SARS processes, including EMP501.
Stay updated on payroll regulations and laws to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
2-3 years experience in a payroll position
Partially qualified/diploma
A minimum of at least 1 year experience on Payspace system (a must)
Experienced in Excel
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
High degree of professionalism and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and labour laws.
