Description

Primary Purpose
Support and maintain the availability, integrity and performance of all SQL databases. Manage all database changes in all environments.

Ensure that all production databases are adequately backed up and replicated to ensure limited impact in the event of a failure.


Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • National Diploma in Information Technology and / or BSC Degree in Information Technology
  • National Diploma in Information technology and / or BSC Degree in Information Technology (Ideal)

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in Database Administration

Knowledge and Skills

  • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator and / or other Database related Certifications
  • ITIL (Change Management, Service Delivery, Service Level Agreements)

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

FINANCE

  • Analyse & Document AS-IS processes for projects and workstreams
  • Document TO-BE Processes for new projects and workstreams
  • Document Business Requirements of various business unit requirements

CLIENT SERVICE

  • Liaise Any enhancements or changes with Business Analysts or Project Manager
  • Liaise with external parties associated to the projects and workstreams
  • Daily Support for consultants/supervisors/managers/Nostro/Finsurv/card Ops/call centre
  • Assist with software / hardware needed for testing
  • Work with external stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback into the service/function/product provided
Service Excellence

  • Interprets business/customer requirements to provide timeous solutions
  • Responsiveness: speed of responses, reaction time, going the extra mile, turnaround time
  • Give valuable advice to customers and/or stakeholders
  • Responding to internal and external queries
  • Building good working relationships with all clients

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Process design
  • System Enhancements
  • Effective Administration

ADMINISTRATION

  • Assist System Admin with troubleshooting
  • Data extracts
  • Replacement and New Server testing
