Referral Coordinator at Veterinary Specialist Centre

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Referral Coordinator to join our team at a specialist 24-hour veterinary hospital and referral centre.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will act as liaison between Specialists, patients' owners, clinical staff, and insurance providers. Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating all aspects of the referral process, including receiving and reviewing requests and verifying patient eligibility
• Assisting referring veterinarians with any aspect of the referral process
• Providing cost estimates to clients and referring veterinarians
• Assisting with patient follow-up care and advice
• Expediting patient referrals to specialty departments
• Liaising with insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are met and assisting clients with the claims process
• Scheduling appointments and coordinating necessary tests or procedures
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date referral records and documentation

Requirements

Experience as a receptionist in a veterinary environment is preferred. The successful candidate must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. They should be able to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain a friendly and professional demeanour.
