Job Purpose:
Barista
Under the supervision of the restaurant, the Barista is responsible for:
- Preparing and serving a wide range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea,
- Ensuring the quality and consistency of beverages.
- Following proper recipes and preparation techniques.
- Providing exceptional guest experiences.
- Engaging with guests.
- Taking guest orders.
- Addressing any guest questions or concerns.
- Operating coffee brewing and grinding equipment and machinery.
- Following safety guidelines and maintenance procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area, including proper storage of ingredients, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensuring efficient workflow, especially during busy periods.
- Staying updated on current industry trends.
- Staying updated on new beverage offerings, and company promotions.
- Continuously developing knowledge and skills.
- Adopting an attitude of lifelong learning.
- Facilitating training sessions and workshops.
Functional competencies:
- Experience as a Barista in a fastpaced environment is highly advantageous.
- 23 years' experience preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- An ability to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effectively interacts with guests and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
- Knowledge of different coffee beans, brewing methods, and latte art is a plus.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
