QUALIFICATIONS (BENEFICIAL):


  • IT Tech Support
  • CompTIA A+ and/or CompTIA N+
  • Microsoft Certified Professional
  • IT Systems Support NQF Level 5

EXPERIENCE:


  • Proven experience as an ICT Technician or in a similar role, with a focus on end user environments.

Duties & Responsibilities:


End User Support

  • Provide technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, responding to inquiries, and resolving problems promptly.
  • Install, configure, and maintain end user devices such as desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.

Hardware and Software Management

  • Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and repairs as needed.
  • Conduct regular software audits to ensure compliance with licensing agreements.

System Administration

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in collaboration with the system administrators.
  • Monitor system performance and implement optimisations to enhance end user experience.

Network Connectivity

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues for end user devices.
  • Collaborate with the network team to ensure seamless and secure access to resources.

Security and Compliance

  • Implement and enforce security protocols for end user devices, including antivirus software and encryption.
  • Stay informed about the latest security threats and ensure that end user environments are protected against potential risks.

Documentation and Training

  • Create and maintain documentation for hardware and software configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and user guides.
  • Conduct training sessions for end users on best practices, security protocols, and efficient use of technology.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with other ICT team members to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve hardware and softwarerelated problems.

Stay Current with Technology

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in end user computing.
  • Make recommendations for the adoption of new technologies to enhance end user productivity.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:


  • Strong inclination towards administrative tasks with the ability to efficiently remote operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct technical research to identify solutions and improvements for administrative and ICTrelated challenges.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to convey technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Teams and SharePoint administration, including site management, permissions, and customisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct technical research to identify and implement solutions to complex technical issues.
  • Strong organisational, problemsolving, and multitasking abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in office productivity tools and collaboration platforms.
