Our company is the sole distributor of the premier educational management software for schools in Southern Africa.

This is a half day, 6 month contract role for a bookkeeper. You will be responsible for invoicing, receipt allocation, client account queries, payroll and accounting up to monthly management pack as well as other ad hoc tasks. The role is heavily systems based and connected to our product, so experience and skills in different accounting systems is essential as well as high attention to detail.

KEY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Running all accounting aspects of the business


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Main duties and responsibilities are indicated here. Other duties at an appropriate level and nature may also be required.

Daily activities

  • Invoicing clients, allocating receipts, responding to client queries
  • Assisting staff with any financial client queries linked to invoicing and support.
  • Other ad hoc tasks
Monthly activities

  • Completing month end procedures and preparing the management pack
  • Billing support hours
  • Payroll (Simplepay experience preferred)
  • HR checks
  • Staff expenses processing
Other

  • Bi-Monthly VAT returns
  • CIPC return
  • Workmens Compensation return
  • Provisional tax return
Payroll

  • Monthly payroll
  • EMP201 return
  • EMP501 return

Teamwork

  • Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all team members regardless of work location, using systemised communication methods to minimize impact of remote working throughout the team.
  • Contribute towards the motivation and support of all participating staff members, creating an environment in which clear and consistent communication is key using appropriate tone and approach.
  • Ensure that company communication and design banding guidelines are followed with both internal and external communication to create a professional environment and impression to both staff and clients.
  • Ensure work is conducted within the context of the overall governance and management of company's annual plan and longterm strategy.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes.
  • Set examples for others in the team in areas of personal character, commitment, organisational and work habits.

Job Types:
Part-time, Contract

Contract length: 6 months

Part-time hours: 20 per week


Salary:
R16,000.00 per month
