Job Title: Instrumentation Superintendent - Mining Industry

• Oversee instrumentation activities in mining operations, managing a team of technicians.
• Develop preventive maintenance programmes for instrumentation equipment.
• Install, calibrate, and commission new instrumentation equipment.
• Conduct inspections and audits of instrumentation systems, addressing issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors.
• Provide training opportunities for instrumentation technicians.
• Monitor key performance indicators for instrumentation performance.
• Budget and cost control.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma (NQF 6)
• Measurement, Control, and Instrumentation Trade Test Certificate

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage instrumentation team to ensure efficient task performance.
2. Develop and implement maintenance plans for optimal uptime.
3. Work with engineering and operations teams to install and commission new equipment.
4. Inspect and audit instrumentation systems regularly.
5. Advocate for safety and compliance within the team.
6. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
7. Support technician growth and development.
8. Monitor and report on instrumentation performance indicators.
9. Control costs and budgets effectively.
