    Clinical Application Support Specialist (Oncology)

    A Clinical Application Support Specialist is required to support all Oncology systems and applications at Head Office in Oxford Parks, reporting to the IM Head of Technology Services.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Support day-to-day use, performance, and maintenance of Oncology applications/systems.
    • Contribute to projects related to Oncology systems.
    • Troubleshoot network and server hardware issues.
    • Configure personal computers and mobile devices.
    • Manage systems and software applications.
    • Resolve telecommunication and network communication issues.
    • Ensure data Security, Privacy, and Governance procedures are up to date.
    • Provide project support for new practices regarding IT infrastructure.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Critical Outputs:

    • Provide subject-matter expertise on Oncology systems to team members.
    • Monitor system functionalities and performance.
    • Manage Service level delivery according to agreed SLAs.
    • Investigate incidents and assist with problem resolution.
    • Ensure required maintenance requests are logged and implemented.
    • Understand the systems landscape and ensure monitoring and optimization.
    • Document interdependencies between systems and optimize for business stability.
    • Manage 3rd Party escalation.

    Coordinate and Drive Small Enhancements:

    • Identify shortcomings and make recommendations for changes/improvements.
    • Follow change governance processes for required changes.
    • Review deployment plans and provide sign-off.
    • Support change projects regarding improvements to systems.

    Involvement in Project Delivery:

    • Manage business expectations and engage stakeholders.

    Support Liaison Between IT and the Oncology Business:

    • Communicate with the Oncology business unit as per the engagement model.
    • Provide reports on system performance and issues.
    • Implement relevant policies and procedures related to IT delivery.
    • Drive solutions for severity 1 and 2 issues and conduct root cause analysis.
    • Engage with vendors to enhance daily operations.

    Desired Experience & Qualifications

    • Direct experience in managing IT systems.
    • Related work experience in a corporate environment.
    • Experience analyzing and defining business requirements.
    • Operational experience in a corporate channel environment.
    • Experience in a healthcare services environment.
    • ITIL Foundation Certification.
    • IT-related qualification is beneficial.
    • Familiarity with in-house systems is advantageous.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft Windows).
    • Understanding of Information Security controls.
    • Deep knowledge of Oncology IT systems and procedures.
    • Familiarity with IT systems development lifecycle principles.
    • Strong analytical and business-analysis skills.
    • Team-oriented and interpersonal skills.
    • Basic understanding of project-management disciplines.
    • Business acumen and commercial awareness.
