Solar Installation Technician

Join a dynamic team and play a crucial role in delivering cutting-edge solar solutions. You will work closely with the Operations & Maintenance Manager to review project plans and ensure installations meet high standards.

Responsibilities:

Set up solar monitoring systems and diagnose operational issues.
Assemble solar array racking and seal roof penetrations to ensure safety and efficiency.
Install a range of systems from residential to large-scale industrial projects.
Collaborate with the Installation Supervisor and Engineering team to bring projects to life.

Your success will be measured by your ability to document fault-finding outcomes, maintain warranty registers, and ensure customer satisfaction through exceptional service.

Compliance & Certification:

Evaluate our installations against all relevant regulations and industry standards.
Uphold quality assurance and control, with a strong emphasis on safety.
Monitor risks and maintain accurate documentation.
Minimize costs and waste to enhance project efficiency.

Customer Service:

Demonstrate outstanding customer experiences through professional communication and relationship building.

Cost Control:

Work with the project team to ensure all installations stay within budget while adhering to timelines and policies.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

A Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 4) or higher.
A National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (NQF 6), or equivalent.
A valid 3-Phase Wireman's license.
A QCTO Red Seal Electrician Certification.
An AREP/SAPVIA PV Green Card certification, preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of solar installation experience (both roof and ground mount systems).
Advantageous: Experience with micro and string inverters, and setting up monitoring systems.

Technical Competencies:

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Familiarity with discipline-specific software and systems.
Exposure to solar inverter testing and battery management systems.
