Description
Identify and open new accounts in the pet speciality sector, including independent, franchise, and corporate brick-and-mortar stores (veterinary practice, vet shop, pet shop), but not excluding professionals (groomers, trainers, behaviourists, breeders, etc.).
Build and maintain a network of sources to identify new sales leads.Implement effective sales techniques to ensure the product portfolio's successful launch, maintenance and growth.
Serviceallcustomers (potential, existing, and previous), alerting them of new products, promotions, enhancements, and ongoing product support through a monthly call cycle program.
Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management, addressing all customer queries, post-sale complaints, orders and stock control.
Ensure that each product range is displayed effectively to capture attention and encourage sales as well as assist with display concepts
Track wholesaler stock holding to ensure supply and demand.
Demonstrate the functions and utility of products to customersthrough practical product training and demonstrations, including wholesaler and retailer accounts.
Submit weekly call reports detailing sales activities, including calls,market activity, customer feedback, sales progress and weekly planner
Analyse monthly sales figures andmanagedetailed reports, including targets, product sales and customer activities.
Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly targets
Propose promotions and specials to turn over slower-selling stock based on SOH reports.
Assess monthly sales trends and report on sales activities based on promotions, as well as increases and declines in sales (possible reason and cause)
Identify customers, groups, and franchisees where group discounts/rebates can beoffered to encourage further sales.
Product Consignment Agreements - Ensure accurate records are maintained concerning customers who have agreed to hold and sell consignment stocks, as well as top-up, invoicing and collection of payments due.
Prepare and participate in once-weekly management meetings and feedback sessions
Manage rotation of Company samples as well as ensure sufficient source of necessary hard copy literature and data sheets
Identify both direct and indirect competitors, evaluate their strategies to determine their strengths and weaknesses relative to those of our own product and service, and choose and implement effective strategies that will create a competitive advantage.
Establish gaps in the marketplace where there might be a niche or demand for a specific product that either has a weak product offering or has yet to be established.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum 3 years field sales experience in the veterinary/pet retail sector And/or
Minimum 5 years field sales in the retail industry, but must demonstrate a love for pets (e.g.volunteer, showing, training etc)
Relevant Diploma or Degree
Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
Bilingual (English and Afrikaans)
Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Between - 3 Years
