Senior Brand Manager - Johannesburg, South Africa - Yum
Description
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support in developing insightful marketing strategies aligned with the regional NAM strategy and plans for the countries for which they are responsible
- Analyse trends and statistics across different markets and menus, setting pricing and strategic direction through analytics
- Provide support in developing relevant consumer insights, NPD, packaging design and PR in conjunction with the Marketing Manager when applicable
- Provide support in developing impactful advertising that is relevant, grows the KFC brand over time and drives sales overnight
- Provide input into the annual budgeting process and then manage the budget with in country brand team to achieve key objectives in their markets
- Travel to all respective markets to gain insights into the competitive landscape and an understanding of the country in order to ensure relevant plans are developed and executed
Stakeholders and Decision-Making Scope
- Internal: NAM Marketing Team, NAM Marketing Director, NAM GM, CMO, Executive Team, Development, IT, SCM, Ops and Finance.
- External: Ogilvy Cape Town, Inmarket agencies, Franchisees and Franchisee teams
- Final decisions at a strategic level in this role are always made in alignment with the Marketing Director
- In final execution and implementation of work, final decisions can be made with incountry Marketing resources and the franchisee
- In collaboration with the NAM GM and marketing team as well as alignment with franchisee, there is full scope to make changes and/ or enhance any existing process or products
Travel Requirements
Hybrid working conditions in the office plus regular travel into NAM countries
Qualifications
- Tertiary degree level qualification, with major in Economics, Finance or Marketing
Experience
- In depth knowledge of the New African markets preferred
- Previous experience of working in Africa markets will be preferred
- Min 10+ years relevant business experience
- Previously demonstrated experience of external relationship building
- Excellent interpersonal and team interaction skills and abilities
- Excellent communication and influencing skills; & high work ethic with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- High analytical ability and experience in strategic direction setting using statistical data
Knowledge
- Full understanding of different country market conditions both macro and micro with very limited access to reliable information
- Lead analytical work on pricing, menu, and marketing influence on FZ business model
Competencies
- In depth knowledge of the New African markets preferred
- Previous experience of working in Africa markets will be preferred
