Bookkeeper Job

The Bookkeeper is responsible for undertaking all bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT administration and payroll.

They will be processing end to end transaction allocation and accounts management, including helping with the preparation of financial reports.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The position requires you to report to the management
  • Your major role is to perform all the activities of a financial controller
  • You will work with management,
  • Can perform all the tasks of an experienced Bookkeeper.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence
  • Directed by and reportable to management
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload
  • From time to time you may be asked to review and check less qualified and experienced team member's work
  • You will be required to work in a team and be willing and able to delegate work when asked to by management
  • Perform all reconciliation
  • Prepare sales invoices in the client's accounting system
  • Enter supplier's tax invoices in the client's accounting system
  • Process payments of A/P and collections of A/R
  • Can resolve the recurring ledger reconciling items showing in the reconciliation reports
  • VAT preparation, submission, reconciliation, and administration
  • PAYE preparation, submission, reconciliation, and administration
  • Understanding of the flow of accounting transactions up the financial statements level
  • Have a good understanding of the SARS efiling portal and its use
  • Can liaise with accountants (external)
  • Debtors and creditors management
  • Managing Intercompany loan accounts
  • Assistance with financial and BBBEE audits
  • Periodically updating statutory documents (Tax Clearance, CIPC update etc)
  • Monthly management reporting
  • Overseeing procurement and logistics
  • Assist with HR related activities (Keeping personnel file, payroll preparation, payment of salaries, reconciliation submission and administration)
  • Fixed Asset Register Management
  • Treatment Depreciation
  • Monthend Journals (Accruals, Prepaid expenses, provisions, etc)

Requirements:


  • 5+ years of experience
  • Tertiary education preferred
  • Pastel Partner
  • Sage One Payroll
  • Sage one Accounting
  • Microsoft Office
  • Excellent Computer skills
  • Experience working on projects

Salary:
From R23,000.00 per month
