Description

The main purpose of this position is to install and maintain electronics-related components to optimise the building systems at the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

Detailed Description
Engage in short-term planning.

  • Perform tasks independently against welldefined work instructions.
  • Identify, evaluate and solve defined, routine and technical problems within the related context.
  • Perform faultfinding for electronicsrelated subsystems and equipment and determine component failure, including performing firstline preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Test all work and close out job cards (work orders) relating to electronics maintenance and project work.
  • Interpret work instructions and basic drawings concerning construction, alterations and modifications, routine maintenance and operational projects in the electronics and related environment.
  • Perform basic quality assurance on work done by external service providers for adherence to the set specifications and/or industry requirements and report possible nonconformance to the supervisor.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports using a standard template (job cards and a non
- conformance reporting template), highlighting work completed and possible problem areas.

  • Engage positively with stakeholders and clients, which includes handling clients' complaints and compliments.
  • Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standard within SARB and enforce compliance when working with external service providers.
Job Requirements
a matric/grade 12 certificate;
- a relevant N4 qualification or higher;
- a National Trade Test certificatein electronics or electronic and security systems;
- at least 3-5 years' experience in an electronic engineering environment;
- a valid driver's licence; and
- accommodation within 30-60 minutes away from site to be able to tend to emergency call-outs while on standby duties.


Additional requirements include:
- knowledge and skill in:

- engineering and planning;
- facilities, engineering and reporting; and
- facilities, engineering and information management;
- verbal and written communication skills in English;
- computer literacy (i.e. working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite);
- the ability to work overtime and do standby duties when required; and
- have own transport.

**The SARB offers remuneration and benefits commensurate with the level of the position and in line with the market. The level at which the successful applicant will be appointed will depend on his/her competence and experience.
