    Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to develop and maintain our data infrastructure. This role involves designing and implementing optimal data pipeline architectures, integrating large complex data sets, and ensuring seamless access to data for scientists, analysts, and other users.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Demonstrate expertise in data construction and interpretation.
    2. Maintain and enhance data assets across various ventures.
    3. Create and optimize data pipeline architecture.
    4. Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
    5. Identify and implement internal process improvements.
    6. Develop infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse sources.
    7. Build analytics tools utilizing the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into key business metrics.
    8. Collaborate with stakeholders, including data scientists and analysts, to resolve technical issues and support data infrastructure needs.
    9. Ensure secure data separation and storage across national boundaries through multiple centers and AWS regions.
    10. Design data tools for analytics and science teams to enhance product development.
    11. Partner with data experts to drive functionality advancements in our data systems.

    Qualifications

    1. NQF Level 6 qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology.
    2. Minimum 10 years of practical development experience.

    Required Technical Exposure

    1. Advanced SQL skills.
    2. Advanced data analysis techniques.
    3. Database knowledge and understanding of table relationships.
    4. Data modeling expertise.
    5. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and functions.
    6. Data governance principles.
    7. Understanding of ETL processes.
    8. Extensive skills in data analysis and modeling.
    9. Experience with Loan IQ and related technologies.
    10. Back-end development on MSSQL (with consideration for PostgreSQL).
    11. Azure platform expertise.
    12. Abinitio, Connect Direct, and Denodo proficiency.
