    Job Overview

    We are seeking a Transport Operations Manager to lead, plan, and successfully implement all aspects of transportation operations within the branch. This involves optimizing the coordination of transport requirements in the last mile process, maintaining compliance with vehicle and road traffic regulations, and leading the team to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective transport services.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Implement business plans effectively
    • Manage daily operations
    • Maintain adherence to policies
    • Ensure operational efficiency
    • Utilize transportation management software
    • Optimize delivery processes
    • Monitor vehicles and drivers
    • Manage ticketing systems
    • Collaborate with other departments to test and refine systems

    Stakeholder Engagement and Customer Service:

    • Build and maintain relationships with third-party suppliers
    • Collaborate with customers to ensure satisfaction
    • Resolve customer issues efficiently
    • Ensure audit compliance

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Transport / Operations Management / Logistics Management / Supply Chain Management
    • Road Traffic Management System (RTMS) Certification is advantageous
    • 3 - 5 years' experience in a transport management role within a fleet / logistics environment
    • 1 – 2 years' management / supervisory experience
    • Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage large fleets and associated tasks
    • Analytical mindset to analyze data and make informed decisions
    • Attention to detail for accurate documentation, compliance, and maintenance schedules
    • Effective communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, maintenance teams, and upper management
    • Technical knowledge of modern vehicle technology, telematics, and fleet management software
    • Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate team members
    • Adaptability and problem-solving abilities to handle unexpected situations
    • Financial acumen to manage budgets, costs, and resources
    • System-oriented approach to process management
    • Passion for efficiency, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
    • Proficiency in using fleet management software, telematics systems, GPS tracking, and other relevant technologies
