Legal Claims Solutions (LCS) has a position available for a Litigation Manager who will be based in Alice Lane, Sandton.
Job Description
This position requires an individual to investigate the merits of a matter, determine policy response and instruct and manage external attorneys. Monitor and manage legal costs and ensure that the external attorney adheres to the prescribed Santam Memorandum of Understanding.
Key Responsibilities
• Determine if the policy needs to respond to the claim lodged by applying the policy wording to the facts
• Appointing and managing of resources
• Ensure correct payment of costs
• Effective diary management
• Liaise with all relevant stakeholders – which may include, brokers, administrators, underwriting
• Service: provide excellent professional service to all relevant parties, both internal and external
• Authorisation of claims payments in accordance with mandate
• Manage the relationship and performance of the attorney
Qualifications and Experience
• Matric/Grade 12
• BCom LLB or LLB degree
• Thorough knowledge and practical experience in Civil Litigation
• Being an admitted attorney will serve as an advantage
• Product Knowledge: Short Term Insurance
• Expert knowledge of process flow systems
