    Description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Financial Reporting: Prepare a monthly Opex Budget Variance Report to highlight overruns for management.
    • Capex Monitoring: Calculate the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of Capex projects and track actual results post-investment.
    • Purchasing Management: Ensure all open purchase orders are processed within 10 days, and provide month-end provisions for outstanding orders.
    • Audit Compliance: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
    • Trial Balance Review: Analyze both profit and loss accounts and balance sheets with detailed schedules and ageing analysis.
    • Vendor Management: Follow up on advance payments with invoices and accounting entries to maintain accurate records.
    • Automation: Correct assessment cycles and assess opportunities for process improvements.
    • Cost Optimization: Monitor Total Delivered Costs (TDC) and Material Price Variance (MPV) to minimize expenses.
    • Vendor Reconciliation: Verify vendor statements and confirm balances to ensure accuracy.
    • Costing and Benchmarking: Review routing standards, product costing, and cost benchmarking with other manufacturing locations to optimize costs.
    • Fixed Assets and Depreciation: Account for fixed assets, calculate depreciation, and conduct physical verification annually.
    • Inventory Verification: Conduct quarterly inventory checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • SLOB Provision: Analyze and provision for Slow Moving Obsolete Inventory (SLOB) to minimize losses.
    • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure documentation is in place for imports and foreign payments, and raise purchase orders for all procurement activities.
    • Capital Commitment Report: Generate reports on capital commitments to inform business decisions.

    Detailed Requirements

    Education and Qualifications: Matriculation plus a degree in finance or accounting, or CIMA certification.

    Work Experience: Finance management experience within supply chain or FMCG industries is essential.
