    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Support Technician within the retail sector to join our IT team reporting into our Desktop Support Team Leader. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide technical support for desktop computers, peripherals, and software applications.

    The ideal candidate for this role should possess comprehensive knowledge of computer software, hardware, internet applications, networks, and operating systems. Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail are also essential. The objective is to establish and uphold modern and efficient computer systems and networks, maximizing the impact of technology on business sustainability.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive technical assistance and support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues. This support will be offered both in-person and remotely, covering all major platforms such as Windows, MacOS, and Linux.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and effectively resolve hardware and software problems across a wide range of devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and telephony peripherals.
  • Take charge of the deployment, installation, and maintenance of new and existing desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and software applications.
  • Offer guidance and training to end-users, empowering them to make the most of technology resources and tools available to them.
  • Contribute to the testing and deployment of new applications and systems, providing valuable support throughout the process.
  • Proficiently handle audio-visual equipment, such as projectors, wireless casting devices, and videoconferencing systems.
  • Effectively manage stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring their needs and expectations are addressed.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and responsiveness in the face of change, effectively navigating and embracing new circumstances.
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation, encouraging the generation of new ideas and solutions.

    Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or in a similar technical support role.
  • A relevant IT National Diploma.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), ITIL, Apple certification or equivalent will be advantageous.
  • Solid technical experience working with MS Office365, displays technical skills in WAN/LAN, Point of Sale (strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience with Active Directory administration and user management.
  • Valid driver's license.
