    Senior Data Engineer Role

    This senior data engineer position is available at our Johannesburg branch, part of a well-established marketing organization with international presence.

    Main Responsibilities

    We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Data Science Team and lead the development of our data structure.

    Detailed Job Requirements

    1. Proven experience in building enterprise-level ETL/ELT processes, data lakes, and collaborative environments using code-based techniques.
    2. Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools like Jira and Git.
    3. Mastery of multiple software development languages, including Python, Bash/Shell Scripting, and SQL (PostgreSQL).
    4. Knowledge or willingness to learn Snowflake and DBT.
    5. Experience with Dagster and Superset would be advantageous.
    6. Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud infrastructure and Big Data is ideal.
    7. Background in market research, marketing industries, and survey & sampling data would be beneficial.

    2. Efficiently manage projects from start to finish.
    3. Work iteratively, delivering working software and solutions regularly.
    4. Ensure our data infrastructure remains up-to-date and runs efficiently.
    5. Contribute valuable insights to product and technology strategy discussions.
    6. Mentor and coach team members, sharing expertise and knowledge.
    7. Help develop and retain top talent within the organization.
