    Job Description

    As a Senior Project Manager, you will be part of our Johannesburg Project Management team, working closely with clients to devise strategies for successful business solutions prior to sanction.

    You will ensure projects are effectively managed and controlled, and facilitate the capture and transfer of knowledge.

    The role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of built environment projects and programmes, and excellent communication skills.

    • Lead Project Management Commissions and multi-site programmes, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery.
    • Act as the key client interface, ensuring client objectives are met and projects are delivered to time and cost targets.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

    Duties of a Senior Project Manager

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Advising at a strategic level on project conception, including providing advice on approaches to achieve client objectives.
    • Leading the establishment of success criteria for projects, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
    • Planning and managing quality, safety, health and environment issues.
    • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems.
    • Project planning, including production of detailed project plans.
    • Procurement and resource allocation.
    • Leading cross-functional project teams.
    • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques.
    • Managing change control and procurement processes.
    • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting and communication with clients.

    Requirements

    • Degree in Construction Project Management or equivalent qualification.
    • 10+ years' experience in Construction Management/Project Management.
    • Registration with SACPCMP as Professional Construction Project Manager.
    • PMP certification an advantage.
    • South African industry knowledge and exposure.
    • Working expert knowledge in forms of construction contracts.
    • Experience in multi-site roll-out programmes, green field, brown field, refurbishment and fit out perspectives.
    • Delivery experience within Sub-Saharan Africa beneficial, in addition to South Africa.
