Job purpose:


The HR Consultant provides operational and administrative support to the Head of HR and the HRBP to deliver on the HR Strategy in support of the Edge Growth strategy.

The role also drives operational effectiveness and efficiency of the HR Operations and Administration Function to enable continuous improvement and deliver an excellent employee experience.


Core activities:


Administration and Operations:


  • Ensure the HRSS system and relevant knowledge centres information is up to date and accurate inclusive or processes and policies.
  • Ensure all HR related filing (Digital and physical) is done timeously and accurately.
  • Ensure capturing of employee information on time.
  • Ensure all People team folders, files, and relevant IP are organised, accurate, and up to date on Sharepoint.
  • Timeously update organisational structures and contracts in line with changes to operating models as and when required.
  • Support the year end processes in the development and distribution of all required documentation.
  • Management of all HR/People related contracts with external People service providers.
  • Ensure all invoicing is processed timeously and tracked against People Team budgets.
  • Prioritise all Operational and Administrative activities to ensure that all deadlines are met.
  • Develop HR / Operations documents as needed.
  • Identify operational and administrative improvements in the HR department and communicate them timeously to improve efficiencies.
  • Provide administrative support to the People team.
  • Attend selected meetings, capture actions, and track them.
  • Manage all HR related queries by either addressing them or escalating.

HR Delivery:


  • Supports the Head of People and the HRBP to drive the implementation of strategies that will engage people in delivering the organisation's vision.
  • Provides support to the People function to ensure execution of relevant HR projects aligned to the business needs.
  • Set up all People related meetings/ forums.

High Performance Culture Implementation:


  • Provide support in implementation of people strategies aimed at facilitating a high performance culture.
  • Provide administrative and/ or operational support to implementation of the company's performance management system and processes.
  • Supports the achievement of the Employee Value Proposition in order to create a 'Great Place to Work' environment.

Recruitment, Onboarding, Promotions and Terminations:


  • Prepares advertisement for vacant roles to enable timeous resourcing.
  • Facilitates the interviews processes.
  • Facilitate and or support the onboarding processes.
  • Facilitate the induction program for all new hires.
  • Administer the promotions process aligned to the Policy.
  • Ensure timeous capturing of employees' data to keep it updated at all times.
  • Ensure timeous terminations of employees being terminated.
  • Conduct and/ or ensure conducting of exit interviews with all exiting employees. Ensure effective administration of headcount report to enable accurate reporting.

Governance, Compliance, Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintains compliance with all HR policies and processes.
  • Support all activities to address the audit findings.
  • Support the drafting of relevant legislative compliance reports to ensure timely submission.
  • Support preparations of analytics and organisational health measures such as disciplinarians, grievances, absenteeism and other organizational measures across the business.
  • Compiles and/provides required inputs into the relevant HR and business reports.
  • Completion and support of surveys.
  • Keep the Employee Policy Handbook up to date and ensure that updates are communicated to the rest of the organisation.
  • Develop and continuously improve an HR metrics dashboard for Edge and its various businesses.
  • Generate monthly reports on all agreed HR Metrics according to the agreed deadlines inclusive of but not limited to: Performance Management, Skills Development (WSP/ATR) and training initiatives, headcount reporting, employment equity etc.
  • Develop ad hoc metrics as required by the Head of HR and the HRBP.

Stakeholder relationship management:


  • Support maintenance of regular communication and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Setup all relevant meetings between stakeholders.

Payroll:


  • Ensure all payroll data is captured, updated and accurate.
  • Ensure all payroll changes are submitted timeously on a monthly basis.
  • Provide accurate data to external payroll provider when required.
  • Support People team on payroll during year end processes.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Qualified SDF is advantageous.

Experience:


  • A minimum of 3 years of HR Operations experience with a generalist background.
  • Exposure to reporting, recruitment and selection, training, HR data handling, data capturing and support implementation of projects.
