    Accounts Payable Specialist

    We are a leading industrial equipment company based in Edenvale, Johannesburg. We specialise in providing high-quality machinery and equipment to various industries, dedicated to excellence and customer satisfaction. We seek an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to handle foreign currencies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Issue timely invoices to customers and send monthly statements.
    • Process daily supplier invoices according to established procedures.
    • Ensure accurate recording of all bank transactions in QuickBooks by the 9th of each month.
    • Reconcile petty cash and bank statements monthly.

    Inventory Management:

    • Record stock transactions in the system.
    • Maintain correct stock levels and coordinate physical stock counts.
    • Manage the fixed asset registry.

    Payment Processing:

    • Manage cash withdrawals and reimbursements.
    • Review and submit payment sheets by specified deadlines.
    • Liaise with banks for various purposes, including foreign payments.

    Tax Compliance:

    • Assist in processing bank statements and follow up on missing invoices.
    • Submit necessary documentation for VAT processing and ensure timely submissions to avoid penalties.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and update monthly reports for meetings.
    • Review reports from relevant departments and provide additional financial information as requested.

    Administration:

    • Respond promptly to emails and customer queries.
    • Manage deadlines effectively and delegate tasks when necessary.

    Requirements:

    • Matric qualification.
    • At least 5 years' experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory control.
    • Demonstrated expertise in handling foreign currencies.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Pastel.
    • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
