Purpose:


Ensuring successful execution of assigned projects by working closely with the Senior Manager - Projects (Johannesburg Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) and his team in all aspects of project management.


Qualifications/Experience:

B. Tech, B.Eng., or BSc (Eng) degree (Electrical, Control and Instrumentation).

PMP registration is a requirement.

Minimum 3 years project management experience.

Skilled in MS projects and primavera (beneficial).

Skilled in project planning.

Drivers licence and own transport.

Contract management experience in either a consulting or construction contractor environment.


Required Outputs and Responsibilities:

Responsible to take project from Design phase (Basic & Detail Engineering) to Execution (Construction, Commissioning, and handover to Client).

Responsible for executing projects effectively and efficiently within budget, on-time, to the required quality and safety standards.

Integrated project planning using MS Projects or Primavera (P6 experience will be beneficial).

Control of various scheduling and project planning tasks.

Manage the cashflow on the project, including invoicing to the Client and managing sub-contractor costs.

Co-ordinate monthly progress meetings internal and external.

Resource planning.

Engage actively with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure they understand the scope and schedule.

Continuous engagement with Client and stakeholders regarding project related matters.

Proficient in contract management NEC (FIDIC advantageous).

Compilation of tenders and quotations of new projects.

Monthly reporting on the progress and performance of projects to the project sponsor and Client.


Projects to be executed are within a diverse client base, focusing on SOEs and the Petrochemical environment (Electrical, C&I and Renewables).
